The DVV Media Group has long since responded to the trend towards moving images on the Internet. Whether on the company’s websites, such as www.dvz.de or www.eurailpress.de, or in the social media channels of the trade magazines: videos are an integral part of the information offered by the publishing house.
This also applies to the Rail division of the DVV Media Group. The industry event iaf, Europe’s most important trade fair for rail track construction, was recently accompanied by a film team from the Rail editorial team. The iaf is organized by the Association of German Railway Engineers (VDEI), which ordered the videos from the DVV Media Group.
The result is four films, each around two minutes long, which provide information about the trade fair and capture the special spirit of the event. Firstly, they were published on www.eurailpress.de and the Rail division’s social media channels. Secondly, the VDEI was also supplied with the short films so that it could distribute them on its own channels and thus promote the event.
Whether interviews with trade fair participants or technical demonstrations: The four-person film team moved around the exhibition grounds with cameras and microphones, with the two editors responsible for the content. The professional image and sound editing as well as the design and insertion of the intro and credits – this work was carried out by the two media designers from the DVV Media Group.
However, trade fair videos are only one part of the publisher’s moving image offering. They also include webinars, discussion panels and interviews. These contributions are often produced in the television studio that the DVV Media Group maintains at its headquarters in Hamburg.
