DVV trains all employees on generative AI

Whether ChatGPT, Perplexity, Midjourney or ElevenLabs: Generative AI (GenAI) is on everyone’s lips. The technology also offers considerable potential for the various business areas of the DVV Media Group – which is why the media group is having all employees trained in GenAI.

In a series of webinars, colleagues first learn more about the basic functioning of AI, the differences between machine learning and deep learning, for example, or how a large language model (LLM) works. However, it is not just the technology itself that is an important focus of the training courses. Another focus is on the responsible use of solutions such as ChatGPT or Perplexity, some of which are already being used by employees at the publishing house. For example, it is clarified which data should never be uploaded and what risks there are with regard to lack of transparency and false statements by the AI.

Nevertheless, the transformation of work through artificial intelligence has long since begun in many areas of publishing. And beyond the risks, there are many advantages that GenAI brings to everyday life: for example, tools can be used for research purposes or to generate images. GenAI can also be used to train telephone sales calls in sales and can be used to support the development of entire advertising campaigns. To get a better feel for the possibilities, the training courses offer not only theory but also practical exercises, such as creating a social media posting. In addition, detailed information is provided on the correct prompting.

The Rheinische Post Group, to which the DVV Media Group also belongs, is working on an AI portal for all employees in order to promote the exchange of information on this topic. The webinars will also provide information about this platform. So anyone who wants to find out more about AI in general, the rules of its use and plenty of examples – including practical tips for implementation – will find plenty of information on the planned platform.
