Save the Date: 26th SIGNAL+DRAHT Congress 2026 (hybrid)

Just do it. Under this motto, the 26th Signal+Draht Congress will highlight successful examples of the consistent and rapid implementation of LST projects. In addition to the factors behind their success, the focus will be on which approaches can be applied to accelerate the rollout of new technologies beyond the scope of individual projects.

Specific examples include the roll-out of ETCS on the Vienna main line, the digitalisation of the S-Bahn and U-Bahn in Hamburg, the pilot project for remote train operation on the Munich S-Bahn, and the reconstruction of the Ahrtalbahn. Under the heading ‘lessons learnt’, approaches to accelerating the ETCS rollout, experiences from ETCS rolling stock retrofitting and the testing of the new guidelines for the Cyber Resilience Act will also be presented.

Another key focus is artificial intelligence: specific use cases in knowledge management within operators and industry, as well as in train dispatching, highlight exemplary developments in the rail sector. One area of innovation is signal boxes utilising cloud technology. The resilience of the rail system is of great relevance both in general and in light of the requirements for military mobility. And options for the introduction of a new train radio system are the subject of heated debate.

For the first time, this year’s Signal+Draht Congress will present a Young Achievement Award to honour young talents who have driven forward innovative projects in the field of signalling and safety technology. In addition to attending in person in Fulda, where there will be opportunities for networking and face-to-face discussions with the approximately 300 participants, digital participation via livestream is also available.

Registration for the conference will open by early June 2026 at the latest. Sign up for the ‘Request Information’ service so you don’t miss the start of registration.
