5th symposium on railroad law and technology by DVV | Eurailpress

The 5th Railway Law and Technology Conference took place in Aachen on June 23 and 24, 2025 with 120 participants. The event was organized by the DVV Media Group under its Eurailpress brand in cooperation with RWTH Aachen University, the University of Passau and the German Federal Railway Authority. The symposium highlights topics at the interface between railroad law and technology and is therefore aimed at lawyers and practitioners from the railroad industry. This year’s spectrum ranged from new EU legal requirements and current topics of German railroad policy to the currently controversial issue of the withdrawal of railroad land. A particular focus of the programme was on digitalization, with presentations on the renewal of safety technology, cyber security and AI on the railroads. The specialist conference on railroad law and technology is characterized by double lectures on almost every topic from a technical and legal perspective, thus creating the opportunity for interdisciplinary discussion and understanding.
