European Newspaper Award: DVZ wins seven awards

The Deutsche Verkehrs-Zeitung has once again swept the board at Europe’s most prestigious layout awards. Among the winners were the cover story on sustainability and the illustrations on human resources and cyberattacks.

A print publication does not thrive on informative texts alone; visual presentation is also of great importance in presenting a topic in an engaging way – and this is certainly the case with the DVZ. At this year’s European Newspaper Awards, the jury awarded prizes to no fewer than seven graphic design concepts submitted by the DVZ.

These included the cover story on sustainability and the illustrations on the topics of human resources and cyberattacks. The XXL special issue “Problem-Solver” and the page “On Wanting and Having” also won awards in the “Alternative Storytelling” category. The jury was particularly impressed by the excellent infographics.

For years, DVZ has been among the publications to receive the European Newspaper Award. The competition is organised by newspaper designer Norbert Küpper. The awards recognise, above all, layout, typography, visual language and overall concept.
