A trade fair specifically for track technology in rail transport: “iaf”, the 29th International Exhibition for Track Technology, took place in Münster from May 20 to 22, 2025. Around 190 exhibitors from 20 countries and 15,000 participants were recorded by the Association of German Railway Engineers (VDEI) as the organizer of the trade fair – a significant increase compared to the previous trade fair in spring 2022. The many track construction machines in the outdoor area were particularly attractive: from hand-operated small machines and excavators to tamping machines and grinding trains several wagons long.
The DVV Media Group is the main media partner of the iaf. In addition to the extensive trade fair preview in the May issue of the monthly magazine EI – DER EISENBAHNINGENIEUR, which DVV has been producing for the VDEI for decades, the publishing commitment also includes the realization of the iaf trade fair catalog. The Eurailpress Daily View video format was produced during the week of the trade fair itself (accessible via the website www.eurailpress.de). At the publishing stand in the exhibition hall, sales, advertising sales and editorial staff were present in numerous customer meetings, and publishing director Manuel Bosch moderated the official opening of the iaf on the morning of May 20.
“The renewal and expansion of the rail network is the subject of public debate all over the world, but especially in Germany. The contribution that the industry can make with new technologies was very impressive to see in Münster,” says Manuel Bosch, explaining the importance of the iaf – even if the event may seem very special from the outside.
